Tuottaja Danja kertoili KempireDailylle työskentelystä Britneyn kanssa ja Britney Jean -albumista. Hän muisteli muun muassa sitä, kuinka Britney tanssi äänittäessään Gimme More -biisiä.
Danja is finally opening up about his work with Britney Spears and explaining what he thinks she needs to do with her next album. The man behind some of your favorite Nelly Furtado, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey and Madonna hits called into Kempire Radio to talk about his career and his long list of production credits.
But it was what he had to say about his work with Britney Spears that caught our attention. Danja opened up about his studio sessions with Spears during the ‘Blackout’ era. He revealed he created the “Gimme More” beat in the headphones during a Fantasia session. He also spoke about the the change in Britney during that dark period in her life. He said, “It was difficult to see her go through the transition because we were there through the transition when things got a little rough. We seen a happy Brit to a more to herself.”
He also revealed that when she recorded vocals for the “Gimme More” he remembers her doing choreography in the booth. Many fans have blamed the lack luster sales of ‘Britney Jean’ due to will.i.am being in charge of the project. The fans were also anticipating a ‘Blackout 2.0′ which was tweeted by Spears and Danja during the studio sessions. When asked about the rumors that ‘Britney Jean’ was originally going to be like a ‘Blackout 2.0,’ Danja reveals that is what he thought too. But noted that he thinks that maybe will.i.am may have had a different vision for the project.
“That was the information I was given as well. And when I started creating for the project that is the direction I went right into. I guess with will.i.am kind of being in charge of the project he had a different vision and that’s what you got. Yeah, I was hoping it was going to a little harder and a tidbit darker. Hopefully the next one. We’ll see.” What does Britney Spears need to do on her next album? Danja revealed that he thinks Britney needs more “grit and grime” on the next project.
“I think she’s made the perfect landscape with Blackout to do more urban-based records and not so pop and polished. You know I feel like we need to get back to the grit and grime a little with her being in the center. Pretty Brit amongst the hard hitting beats,” Danja explained. He went on to say, “She’s the originator of hard hitting pop and that’s what she needs to get back to. If she is not going to do that…then Rock. Either way it has to be edge.”
